i loved the excellent breakfast and the warm welcome from the hosts, making my weekend stay in chard feel very special while being just a few steps from the chard museum and cute cafes like spice villa for my afternoon treat.

My stay at Ammonite Lodge exceeded expectations. The room featured comfy beds and attention to detail made me feel welcome. Breakfast included delicious homemade jams and fresh fruit, which I enjoyed in the lovely courtyard. Just a touch of traffic noise at night, but overall a great experience.

One downside was the limited parking outside. after a couple of hours, we had to find a space a bit further away. the low ceiling heights in certain spots were a challenge, especially when navigating at night. the charm of the historical property made up for these minor inconveniences.

Oh, I’ve got to rave about the homemade muffins for breakfast! They were an absolute treat alongside a menu that made my foodie heart sing. Plus, the warm greeting from the hosts and the cozy atmosphere had me feeling right at home. What a gem!

A cheeky critique—the low sloping roof beams made our snug Twin Room feel a tad cramped. It’s all part of the charm of a 250-year-old house, but if you're tall, mind your head—still, the character of the place is radiant!

As expected in a 250-year-old structure, the ceilings are low, which can be a bit of a head-bumper for taller folks. The bathroom being across the landing from the room might not suit everyone, but it's just a quick step away. the bed was cold at night. while a rug helped, some extra heating would’ve been appreciated. Storage space in the bathroom felt limited, which made organizing personal items a bit tricky, but these minor quirks didn’t detract from the overall experience.

Great breakfast and friendly hosts, but parking was a bit challenging.
